RDI Hub is led by Company founders FEXCO & IT Tralee (“ITT”), with strategic partners Kerry County Council (KCC), involved respectively in the areas of financial services, education, research and enterprise development.

This Privacy Statement applies to our processing of personal data relating to job applicants for the purposes of recruitment. We are committed to being transparent about how we collect and use that data and to meeting our data protection obligations including under the General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679.

This document is intended to inform you about which personal data we collect, how we use this data and the rights that you have in relation to it.

We collect a range of information about job applicants as part of our recruitment process including:

• your name, address and contact details, including email address and telephone number;
• details of your qualifications, skills, experience and employment history;
• answers to a number of questions that we find relevant for the job such as specific examples of previous experience, information about your entitlement to work in Ireland;
• details of your current level of remuneration, including benefit entitlements.

We may collect this information in a variety of ways. For example, data may be contained in CVs or resumes, application forms, obtained from your passport or other identity documents, or collected through interviews or other forms of assessments. Optionally, you can provide us with other details like your personal website or LinkedIn page.

We collect this data on the basis of our legitimate business interests, specifically in order to hire the right person for the job. We may also need to process this data (i) to take steps at your request prior to entering into a contract with you or (ii) to enter into and perform a contract with you.

We will keep your personal data only for the period necessary to fulfil the purposes for which it was collected or processed, unless we have to keep it for tax or legal reasons. In practice, this means that if you are hired, the information related to your job application will end up and be retained in your personnel file during your employment. The period for which your data will be held will be provided to you in a new Privacy Statement for Employees. If you are not hired, we will keep your personal data for a period of 18 months, following which your data will be securely deleted or destroyed.

Your information may be shared internally for the purposes of the recruitment exercise. This includes members of the HR and recruitment team, interviewers involved in the recruitment process and the Board of the RDI Hub. Your information may also be shared with our agents and partners in connection with services that these individuals or entities provide or perform for us including recruitment agencies and the providers of online recruitment services]. Otherwise, we will not share your personal data with third parties unless (i) we have a legal obligation to do so or (ii) your application for employment is successful and we make you an offer of employment. In the latter situation, we will share your data with former employers or individuals chosen by you as character referees to obtain references.

Your rights:

You have the right to obtain from us: a copy of the personal data which we have stored about you on request. You also have the right to require us to correct or erase your personal data, as well as the right to complain to the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner if you believe we have not handled your personal data in accordance with data protection law. You are under no statutory or contractual obligation to provide data to us during the recruitment process. However, if you do not provide the information, we may not be able to process your application properly or at all.
